Attending Rosalyn’s workshop, “Finding the Strength Within Caregiving,” was a great experience for me. The workshop was interactive and well-organized, with enough time for us to reflect on our own experiences, through a series of thoughtfully crafted questions. These questions gave me valuable insights that will really help me in my caregiving journey.
One of the most impactful topics was about taking care of ourselves, not just physically but in a holistic way.
Hearing from other caregivers who understand the daily challenges was incredibly inspiring and helpful.
Rosalyn, the facilitator, was very knowledgeable and compassionate. She created a safe and supportive environment where I felt comfortable sharing my feelings / experiences and felt understood and empowered. In addition, Rosalyn guided us through various relaxation techniques, which were really beneficial.
I highly recommend this workshop to anyone involved in caregiving

The Finding the Strength Within workshop combined the meaningful exchange of lived experience, with insights that inspired unexpected self-reflection, in a safe and inclusive environment.
Interspersed with the engaging dialogue, the group was taught breathing and meditation techniques that I believe made the workshop even more resonant.
Above all, it was the thought-provoking questions that made each participant dig deep. This workshop is a powerful tool for caregivers, and a reminder that we need to care for ourselves as well.

Rosalyn Fast’s Navigating Our Caregiving Seas workshop was invigorating. She did an excellent job leading us thru relaxation activities, & leading discussions on thinking questions. With her booklet & website, her info can easily be part of anyone’s self care routine.

Rosalyn created a very welcoming, gentle, invitational atmosphere that allowed everyone to engage at their own pace and comfortability. The blend between movement/breath breaks and working on answering intense questions lent itself to a manageable pace of activation and decompression.

Your work will help many TBI Caregivers get re-centered and take better care of themselves.”

Rosalyn gave me a taste of what she has put together for caregivers of someone with a traumatic brain injury. She has a very unique approach by beginning the sessions with breathwork to ground yourself. I feel this helped me to really experience the deep thoughts and emotions that had been hidden away while I tried to just keep our heads above water. I look forward to the next sessions she has put together!
This work is so important to remind the caregiver how important THEY are. It also shows them that the feelings and emotions they have are not unique and that there are others out there who feel it too. This work creates a special community that supports one another.

Hey there! I LOVE your workbook! It is amazing and soooo well done!!! I especially love the 7 dwarves…needing to implement that here with a visual for us all! LOL The flow of the questions is emotional for sure. But much needed.
It’s a much-needed resource and support.

Rosalyn Fast lectured to our rehabilitation department on her experience as the wife of a person living with a traumatic brain injury. The response was incredible. She held the attention of the audience of therapists, social workers, doctors, and psychologists. What she shared was relatable, human, and insightful. Her perspective is something missing in our standard training, yet invaluable. As clinicians working with people with brain injuries, the experiences she shared provided us tools to improve our treatment practices.
Rosalyn’s honest sharing of her fears, her frustrations, and her encouragements allowed us a chance to see details of her life. She set these experiences within pointers that turned these experiences into useful clinical ideas. Her story made us more aware of the ongoing and evolving issues that occur after a brain injury, and made us aware of the experience from the perspective of the “caregiver”. Changes occur and persist not just for the person with the injury but also the family close to them.
In presenting, Rosalyn was attentive to the concerns of our department as her audience. She encouraged questions and was reflective in answering them. Her personal perspective, which she mixed with her skills in recreation therapy, created a presentation that was enjoyable and hugely helpful!

I was first able to hear Rosalyn speak in 2018 when I attended a Therapeutic Recreation conference in Baltimore, Maryland. Her ability to share her story and use her experiences to help educate and motivate the audience was very engaging. She really took the time to learn about the professional background of those in which she was speaking and incorporated interactive aspects to her session to promote greater learning and discussion. She has since been a presenter at multiple conferences in which I have attended speaking on a variety of topics. She is able to effectively engage both a live and virtual audiences as needed to support the goals and needs of the event.

As the owner of Rec Therapy Today, I have heard Rosalyn speak/present on several occasions. Rosalyn tailors her presentations to her audience (in my case Recreation therapists) and draws you in with her lived experience storytelling. Even on a virtual platform, she works to engage and interact with her audience.

Great info. I appreciate your transparency and willingness to share your powerful story

I’ve had the privilege of listening to Rosalyn speak, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Rosalyn’s speaking style is like a balm for your soul – she has the unique gift of being able to discuss difficult topics in such a calm, encouraging manner that you leave feeling better about your circumstances, no matter what they might be. When she speaks, the compassion and wisdom that comes from experiencing tough circumstances pours out of her. When she listens, she does so with grace and a sincere desire to understand. When she responds, she does so with thoughtful intelligence, kindness, and warmth.
If you have a chance to work with Rosalyn in any endeavor, do not pass up that opportunity. You and your team or organization will be better for having interacted with her.

I never understood the power in slowing down until taking Tai Chi with Rosalyn. She’s an amazing instructor and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her.”

Thank you for teaching the Tai Chi class. You have been a very patient teacher and your follow up notes were very helpful. I have enjoyed the classes, and I found that Tai Chi is great for improving balance and strength. I also found, that as I learnt new moves and practiced them, that it was great for focusing and challenging my memory. As well, I realized that it is a very good reminder to practice breathing deeply, which I recently found useful when I had a mild case of pneumonia.

Thank you for your understanding and kind words. We really appreciated your guidance and the positive energy you brought to the sessions: It made the classes enjoyable for everyone who participated.
